Individual Counseling/Therapy

Individual counseling/therapy is a one-on-one therapeutic process where a trained counselor or therapist helps a client work through personal issues, emotional challenges, mental health concerns, or life transitions.

In individual counseling, the focus is entirely on the client's unique experiences, thoughts, feelings, and goals. The counselor provides a safe, confidential space to explore problems, build coping skills, increase self-awareness, and promote personal growth.

Key Features of Individual Counseling:

Personalized Attention:

The sessions are tailored to the client’s specific needs.

Confidentiality :

What is discussed stays private (with a few legal exceptions).

Goal-Oriented :

Clients often work toward specific mental health, relational, or life goals.

Exploration of Thoughts and Emotions :

Clients often work toward specific mental health, relational, or life goals.

Supportive Relationship :

The counselor provides empathy, acceptance, and sometimes challenge to encourage growth.

Relational Counseling

Relational counseling is a type of therapy that focuses on improving the quality of relationships between individuals—whether romantic, familial, professional, or platonic. It emphasizes how people relate to each other and explores the patterns of interaction, communication, emotional connection, and attachment that influence those relationships.

Key Features of Individual Counseling:

Emphasis on Relationships as central to psychological well-being

Exploration of past and present relational patterns.

Focus on mutual understanding and empathy.

Use of the therapeutic relationship as a model for healthy connection.

Support for individuals or couples in navigating conflict, disconnection, or change.

Different Areas Of Relational Counseling Could Include The Following:

Premarital Support for Couples

These sessions are designed for engaged or seriously committed couples who want to build a lasting foundation before marriage. In a safe, structured space, we’ll explore the key areas that matter most in long-term partnerships: communication, conflict repair, values, intimacy, finances, family dynamics, and expectations for the future.

Whether you’re blending families, navigating cultural or faith differences, or simply want to strengthen your connection before the big commitment, this work is tailored to your unique relationship.

You’ll walk away with deeper understanding, practical tools, and a shared vision for a healthy and resilient marriage.

Couples Counseling

Relationships can be beautiful, but they can also be challenging. Whether you’re dealing with communication breakdowns, trust issues, or navigating major life transitions, couples therapy is a safe space to work through the complexities of your relationship. My goal is to help you and your partner understand each other better, learn new ways to communicate, and rediscover the emotional intimacy that brought you together in the first place.

Blended Family Counseling

Blended Family Counseling is a type of therapy specifically designed to help families who are combining members from previous relationships — often as a result of remarriage, cohabitation, or parenting from prior unions. Blended families may include stepparents, stepsiblings, half-siblings, and biological parents who need support in navigating their unique relational dynamics. The goal of blended family counseling is to foster healthier communication, manage conflict, and strengthen relationships, all while acknowledging the complexities and challenges of combining families.

Getting Started in Counseling

Taking the first step toward counseling is a big decision, and it’s okay to feel unsure about what to expect. Whether you're seeking support for personal growth, relationship challenges, or mental health concerns, I'm here to help guide you on your journey. Here’s what you can expect as you begin this process:

01
 Initial Consultation

The first step is scheduling an initial consultation. This is a time for us to get to know each other, discuss what brings you to therapy, and explore how I can support you. It's a chance to ask any questions you may have and make sure we're a good fit. You’ll be asked to fill out some basic forms to provide me with an overview of your background and current concerns.

04
Regular Sessions

Consistency is key for progress. I typically recommend weekly or bi-weekly sessions to ensure we stay on track and make meaningful progress. In between sessions, you may receive tools or exercises to work on, depending on your goals

02
Setting Goals

During our sessions, we’ll work together to identify your goals and clarify what you hope to achieve through counseling. Whether it’s working through past trauma, improving relationships, managing anxiety, or simply gaining more self-awareness, your goals will guide our work together

05
Ongoing Support

Therapy is not just about solving problems—it’s about ongoing growth and learning. Even after you’ve made progress toward your goals, many people continue therapy for deeper self-discovery, personal development, or maintenance of mental health. I’ll always be here to support you along the way.

03
The Counseling Process

Counseling is a collaborative process. You’ll be an active participant in your own healing and growth. I’ll offer insights, tools, and techniques to support you, but ultimately, your pace and comfort are the most important. We’ll work together to explore your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships to create lasting change.
