-
What is counseling?Counseling is a professional, collaborative process where you work with a licensed counselor to address emotional, psychological, or relational challenges. It provides a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while developing tools to cope with life’s challenges.
-
How do I know if counseling is right for me?If you’re feeling overwhelmed by stress, struggling with relationships, experiencing emotional pain, or simply seeking personal growth, counseling could be a great fit. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, or other life transitions, therapy can help you gain clarity, healing, and support.
-
What should I expect in a session? In a typical session, we’ll talk about what’s currently going on in your life, explore your feelings and thoughts, and work toward your goals. You’ll be supported in developing coping strategies, improving communication skills, and making positive changes in your life. Sessions are confidential and designed to help you feel heard and understood.
-
How long does therapy take? The length of therapy varies depending on your goals and the challenges you're facing. Some clients may find relief in just a few sessions, while others may choose longer-term therapy for deeper work. We’ll regularly check in on your progress and adjust the plan as needed to meet your needs.
-
How often should I attend counseling?Typically, weekly or bi-weekly sessions work best for maintaining momentum and making meaningful progress. However, the frequency of sessions is flexible and will be based on your personal needs and goals. We can adjust the schedule as we go along.
-
Is therapy confidential?Yes, everything you share in therapy is confidential. Your privacy is a top priority, and I follow strict ethical guidelines to protect your personal information. There are a few exceptions, such as when there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, but I will always discuss these with you beforehand.
-
Will therapy really help me?Therapy can be incredibly helpful, but it requires your active participation. You’ll gain insight, tools, and strategies that will help you better manage stress, improve relationships, and address emotional or psychological challenges. Change takes time, but with commitment and effort, therapy can lead to significant improvements in your life.
-
Do you offer online counseling?Yes, I offer virtual therapy sessions through secure, HIPAA-compliant video platforms. Online counseling provides flexibility for clients who prefer to meet from the comfort of their own homes or have difficulty attending in-person sessions.
-
How do I know if I need therapy or just coaching?Therapy is ideal for addressing emotional and psychological challenges, mental health issues, trauma, and deep-rooted concerns. Coaching, on the other hand, focuses on goal-setting, personal development, and creating a plan for success. If you’re unsure, we can discuss your needs during a free consultation to determine which option is best for you.
-
How much does counseling cost?My session fees are based on the type and length of service you choose. Please reach out to inquire about pricing, or you can book a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your goals and see how I can assist you. I also offer sliding scale fees in some cases, so don’t hesitate to ask about options.
-
